In response to a roof emergency for a Builders Care applicant, the team at Frank’s Roofing quickly stepped in this week to provide a brand new roof for Mrs. Beryl Jacobs.
Beryl Jacobs is an 85-year-old single woman who has lived in her Lehigh Acres home for 14 years. Over time, her health has deteriorated. She underwent a tracheostomy in 2013 and has a permanent tracheal tube. Other health complications including heart disease, spinal stenosis and fibromyalgia have taken a toll on her as well. Mrs. Jacobs relies solely on social security, most of which goes toward medication, hospital bills and tracheal equipment. These expenses have completely drained her small savings and there are weeks when she is unable to cover basic living necessities, such as food.
And then there was Hurricane Irma. While the roof weathered the storm, the hurricane’s impact on the already-impaired structure left her in desperate need of repairs, which she has been unable to obtain through traditional means.
As a temporary fix, Mrs. Jacobs was using buckets in various locations of her home:
Thanks to the generosity of Frank’s Roofing & Spraying, there will be no more buckets for Beryl. Three of Frank’s Roofing crews were at the residence bright and early Friday morning and the work is expected to be complete in just one day. All labor and materials were donated by Frank’s Roofing and the total value of the project is estimated to be over $16,000.
Mrs. Jacobs is beyond grateful for the rock star crew at Frank’s Roofing for making it happen. Just in time for the rainy season. Mrs. Jacobs extends her utmost thanks to everyone involved and has said, “You all will be forever in my heart. God is good.”
A very special thank you to the team at Frank’s Roofing & Spraying, Inc. This life-changing gift would not have been possible without you!
