Last week, Lee BIA Builders Care and the Lee Building Industry Association partnered with the 2019 Cape Coral Leadership Class to provide Landscaping improvements for a Disabled Veteran.
Mr. Saenz, 73, is an elderly and disabled Veteran who has lived in his Cape Coral home for many years. His mother Mary once lived with him and was his primary caretaker until her passing in 2016. Since 2016, daily activities became increasingly challenging for William. His mobility is limited and he is on oxygen. While home health care visits him twice a week, he spends the majority of his time alone.
Thanks to the partnership with the 2019 Cape Coral Leadership Class, Builders Care was able to provide landscaping improvements that Mr. Saenz could not otherwise perform.
In addition to these improvements, other repairs were desperately needed. His HVAC was not working and he relied on a single window unit in his bedroom to keep cool. Also, his 36 year-old roof had seen its lifespan and had active leaks. Fortunately, Lee BIA Builders contracted with Caloosa Cooling to provide Mr. Saenz with a brand new HVAC system. In addition, Builders Care has contracted with Ad-Ler Roofing and will be providing him with a new roof in the coming weeks.
Mr. Saenz niece Ruth, expressed how these landscaping improvements alone will make such a difference for her uncle’s mental health and well-being. Not to mention the positive impacts of a new HVAC system and roof for his physical health and safety.
