Elderly and Disabled resident receives remarkable gift

This week, two of our most loyal and hard-working volunteers constructed a portable wheelchair ramp for an elderly and disabled Fort Myers resident. When Builders Care received the request for assistance earlier this year, Emily and her husband Cyril were in dire need of a ramp. They were both wheelchair bound and confined to their home.  It was not until a few weeks before the construction of this ramp that Cyril, a US Air Force veteran, passed away. This ramp is a remarkable gift not only because it provides Emily with a more accessible home, but it is also a saving grace for her mental health as she copes with the loss of her husband. We cannot thank our rock star volunteers enough for stepping in and committing their time to make this happen. We know Emily is forever grateful.
