Disabled Homeowner receives Life-Changing Renovations

LeeBC

Andrew Webb, 46, has Cerebral Palsy, which affects his ability to move and maintain balance. He is confined to a wheelchair and unable to function independently.

Both bathrooms in the home were ill-equipped and did not accommodate a wheelchair. In order to bathe, Andrew’s caretaker had to lift him to get in and out of the bathtub. Unfortunately, Andrew’s income would not allow him to afford any type of modifications. Andrew receives a limited amount of disability income, which is just enough to cover basic necessities and medical needs. As a result, bathing posed critical safety risks and continued to be a challenge for many years.

In partnership with the State Housing Initiatives Program (SHIP) of Lee County, Lee BIA Builders Care contracted the work of Tobler Construction and Storm Smart to provide life-changing renovations for this homeowner in need. The scope of work included bathroom modifications to provide accessibility and replacement of new windows and doors throughout the home. These renovations are a dream come true for Andrew and will significantly improve his health, safety, and well-being.
