Disabled Fort Myers Resident Finally Gets Fresh Air with the Help of Builders Care

Earlier this week, Builders Care assembled 2 portable wheelchair ramps for an elderly and disabled Fort Myers resident. James health began to decline in 2002 when he suffered an unexpected heart attack, following a severe stroke in 2016. Both events took a toll on his health and is now primarily bed bound and confined to a wheelchair. It has been almost a year since James has been able to go outside.

With support from community fundraising efforts, the team at Builders Care was able to quickly provide James with 2 portable wheelchair ramps. These ramps will not only allow him to get out of the house for some fresh air, but he will finally be able to watch his grandchildren play in the yard again. It has been since October!

Builders Care is continuing to receive an overwhelming number of requests for people in need of wheelchair ramps. With some of these needs being time sensitive, Builders Care has begun exploring the concept of portable wheelchair ramps to further fulfill its mission of serving elderly and disabled homeowners. If you or someone you know would like to donate a portable ramp to Builders Care, please contact us at (239) 938-0056 or email builderscare@bia.net.  These small acts of generosity can go a long way in changing lives for the better.
