On Wednesday, December 21st, Lee BIA Builders Care marched down the street with community partners, Schultz Air Conditioning and Ferguson Heating & Cooling to share in the holiday blessing as they surprised a local family with a brand new air condition system.
Sarah and Robert Dillard have lived in their central-Fort Myers home for 14 years. The lack of central air conditioning in their home makes it difficult for Sarah, a paraplegic to live comfortably. The addition of kidney failure and resulting dependency on dialysis has further complicated Sarah’s daily activities. Despite the challenges, her spirit remains positive and her upbeat personality demonstrate her appreciation for life. A devoted Christian, Sarah often rides her electric wheelchair over two miles to attend worship services and assist with secretarial duties at their church. The 1,038-square-foot house was being cooled with just one window unit. The original two-ton air conditioning has not worked for many years.
When asked to help a local homeowner in need with the gift of a new AC system, Schultz Air Conditioning and Ferguson Heating & Cooling immediately responded with an outstanding yes! And we are so glad they did. They are not only covering all of the labor expenses, but they have partnered with American Standard and Honeywell to cover the material expenses as well. What an amazing gift and a true hero to this family and this community!
A huge thank you to the Guardian Angels of this project, Schultz Air Conditioning and Ferguson Heating & Cooling!
This project would not have been possible without you!
