On Monday, Oct. 28th, volunteers from several companies came together to take down an old, failing ramp and build a brand new, more sturdy 50′ ramp for Ida of Lehigh Acres. Ida suffers with many health conditions and is currently in the hospital healing and will be home soon.
Volunteers tore down the old, rotting ramp in just minutes and began measuring and placing new posts in concrete. Mike Nilles of Nilles Design Group and Matt Harden of Harden Homes led the team of about 15 volunteers. It took volunteers a total of 3 days to build the 50′ ramp complete with handrails and concrete landings.
Companies providing volunteers included United Mechanical, Nilles Design Group, GulfCoast Mustang Club and Westcoast Structural Concrete & Masonry. Thread Source donated all of the hardware needed on the project. Raymond Building Supply donated a portion of the lumber. Preliminary totals are valued at more than $3,000 for the 3-day construction project.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE. ONE LIFE-CHANGING GIFT AT A TIME.
