Schultz AC and Ferguson Heating & Cooling bring a very COOL surprise to Cape Coral family

Lee Builders Care

Donors and partners of Builders Care surprised a Cape Coral family with news that their wish for a new air conditioning system will be granted.  Jacqueline, 48, is a single mother to five children, a full-time nursing student and a part-time employee on the night shift at a nursing home to make ends meet. She has had several strokes over the past five years due to a blockage in her brain. In 2014, a severe stroke left her paralyzed on the left side and she had to learn to walk and communicate again. Two of her children also suffer with disabilities.  Most recently, she became the caretaker to her aging mother after a fall left her unable to be alone.

Currently, the 1700 sq. ft. house is cooled with one window unit.  The original 3 ton air conditioning has not worked for two years.

Owners of Schultz Refrigeration & A/C, Keith and Julia Schultz, will replace the failing air conditioning at no cost to the homeowner along with assistance from local suppliers. The project is expected to be completed in just one day.  Special thanks to partners with Schultz Refrigeration & A/C, American Standard, Emerson Climate Technologies and Ferguson Heating & Cooling, who are donating their equipment and services.

VIPs, attendees and volunteers met up the street and walked down to surprise homeowners at 10 a.m. with trucks decorated with balloons and filled with materials.

Special thanks for making this an extra special day for Jacqueline and her family!
