Due to financial constraints and medical bills, more than 10 homeowners are seeking support from Builders Care, and are currently waiting for air conditioning replacements in Lee County. In response to asking building partners and businesses to assist them in helping local homeowners, Ferguson HVAC and ParkerAire, Inc. partnered with Builders Care to provide a new air conditioning system for one of these families in need.
Don & Mary Kramer of Cape Coral endured many hot days and nights during the summer for two years with no means to finance a new air conditioning for their family’s home. Mary also suffers with major medical conditions that are exasperated with the heat. On Aug. 28, Don & Mary Kramer’s wish came true when owners and team members from ParkerAire, Inc. and representatives from Ferguson HVAC marched down the street and surprised the family with news that they would receive a brand new air conditioning system.
“I don’t know what to say,” said homeowner Don Kramer through tears. “I’m overwhelmed. Thank you is all I can say right now.”
ParkerAire, Inc. provided the labor to complete the air conditioning system installation and the materials were donated by American Standard, Emerson Climate Technologies and Ferguson HVAC. Services are valued at $6,000. All services and products were provided by the companies at no charge to the homeowner.
During the summer months, Builders Care receives an increase in the number of air conditioning requests and is currently seeking additional support from additional businesses. Businesses who wish to provide materials, services or financial support can contact Heidi Taulman, executive director, Lee BIA Builders Care.
“Air conditioning issues are one of the most common requests that come into our office this time of year,” said Taulman. “These companies has relieved major stress off of a family that will be appreciated for many years to come.”
