This morning, VIPs from Crowther Roofing and BIA Builders Care, surprised a local family whose roof has been severely leaking for more than 2 years. Christina and David Hunt, have worked hard all their lives to provide for their family, and have recently fallen on tough times when David lost his job and Christina came down with a rare form of pneumonia that almost took her life. Now David and his son, care for Christina, who suffered two major heart attacks while in the hospital and now deals with severe memory loss, balance and speech issues and brain damage. Despite all this, the Hunt’s remain positive. “This has been a week of blessings,” said Christina Hunt. “I got the news that I am strong enough for heart surgery, my husband picked up a small job that will help pay our bills and this is the icing on the cake.”
The Hunt family are one of many homeowners in Lee County in dire need of a new roof. “The torrential rains have affected everybody, especially those without a solid roof over their heads,” said Heidi Taulman, executive director for Lee BIA Builders Care. “We are so fortunate to have partners like Crowther Roofing who are going to provide this to a family in need.”
Christina added, “We are so fortunate for this, and maybe people will learn to help thy neighbor. We want to say Thank you to this community.”
