Each year, Lee BIA Builders Care works with Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) to identify a student intern to help with marketing and special events hosted by our organization. We are thrilled to have Samantha Burke, a Senior at FGCU with us through April 2017. Samantha is a Resort and Hospitality Management major with a concentration in Event Planning. She is excited to help plan and orchestrate the fundraisers and events hosted by the Lee BIA and Builders Care this Fall and Spring. After graduation in the Spring, Samantha hopes to make a pathway to become an Event or Sales Manager. While not in school or work,she enjoys traveling and seeing new parts of the world.
Annual events hosted by Lee BIA Builders Care include the Charity Clay Shoot, the Building Supply Blowout Sale and BBQ, Bands & Brew. All proceeds raised through these events go directly to Lee BIA Builders Care to support its mission of providing emergency repairs and construction services at no cost to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged homeowners who are unable to obtain repairs through traditional means.
About Lee Builders Care
Lee BIA Builders Care is the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA). Its mission is to provide emergency home repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means. To date, Lee BIA Builders Care has put more than $4.25 million in construction services back into the community at no cost to homeowners in need. Lee Builders Care enlists the volunteer services of Lee BIA members and leverages grants and donated materials to provide construction and remodeling services to qualified homeowners throughout Lee County.
