Homeowner gets surprised with new roof for Christmas

Lee Builders Care

Michael Sackett has been enduring roof leaks and emptying buckets full of water for several months with no way to finance the new roof that is family’s home needs. Due to financial constraints and medical bills, Builders Care has more than 30 homeowners waiting for roof replacements in Lee County.

“Roofs are one of the most requested item that comes into our office. This year seems to be a bit worse given the amount of rain we received,” said Heidi Taulman, executive director, Lee BIA Builders Care.

Two families will be able to check a new roof off their wish list, thanks to local elves. Builders Care has partnered with a local company that is going to provide two new roofs for Lee County families. The Sackett family was surprised on Dec. 20th at their home and another family will be notified after Christmas.

Roof Smart of Southwest Florida is providing the labor and the materials to complete the roof replacements. Other contributing companies include JGA Beacon Distributors and Polyglass. All services and products were provided by the companies at no charge to the homeowner.

Roof replacement services are valued at more than $10,000.00

“Roof Smart of Southwest Florida is the true angel in this project coming to provide such an amazing gift during this special time of year,” said Heidi Taulman, executive director for Lee BIA Builders Care. “This is truly a gift that will be appreciated for many years to come.”
