Crowther Roofing surprises North Ft. Myers family with new roof

Lee Builders Care

Crowther Roofing and Builders Care recently teamed up to surprise a homeowner with a new roof.  The family was very grateful for the fact that they live in a place where people so generously give back to the community. Builders Care continues to receive requests from homeowners who cannot afford to pay for repairs to their homes. Materials, services or financial support are greatly needed to help fund these needs. Contact Heidi Taulman, executive director, at Builders Care if you can help. The following is a press release with more on the story about how we surprised the Hunt family.

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 9, 2013) –Due to financial constraints and medical bills, more than 40 homeowners are seeking support from Builders Care, and are currently waiting for roof replacements in Lee County. In response to asking building partners and businesses to assist them in helping local homeowners, Crowther Roofing partnered with Builders Care to provide a new roof for one of these families in need.

David Hunt of North Fort Myers endured roof leaks and emptied buckets full of water for two years with no means to finance a new roof for his family’s home. On Sept. 26, David and Christina Hunt’s wish came true when owners and team members from Crowther Roofing marched down the street and surprised the family with news that they would receive a brand new roof.

“It is unbelieveable and I am so grateful,” said homeowner Christina Hunt through tears. “I am overwhelmed that Crowther Roofing cares enough to do this for our family. I am lucky to live in this community.”

Crowther Roofing provided the labor to complete the roof replacements and the materials were donated by JGA Beacon Distributors. Roof replacement services are valued at $8,000. All services and products were provided by the companies at no charge to the homeowner.

Given recent weather conditions, Builders Care has received an increase in the number of roof repair requests and is currently seeking additional support from additional businesses. Businesses who wish to provide materials, services or financial support can contact Heidi Taulman, executive director, Lee BIA Builders Care.

“Roof repairs and replacements are one of the most common requests that come into our office. Rain totals over the past year have increased and so we have seen an increase in roof requests,” said Taulman. “Crowther Roofing has relieved major stress off of a family that will be appreciated for many years to come.”
