The recent project that Builders Care completed for Theresa Meagher, a local veteran, and her family, included a new kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, plumbing, interior and exterior paint and more totaling more than $30,000. Builders Care would not exist without the generosity of all of the local companies that contribute to making safe and healthy housing for seniors and individuals with disabilities in this community.
One local business in particular, Tails-A-Waggin Animal Hospital, went above and beyond what they were asked to do to help this family. When the family needed someone to take care of their four boxers for the duration of the project, Tails-A-Waggin Animal Hospital and Dr. Mogavero stepped up to the plate. Not only did they board all four dogs for 17 days, but they also took care of their shots, medical needs and grooming. The grand total for all of these services would have cost the family more than $5,500! Dr. Mogavero and his team did not have to do this, but their commitment to the community and to helping others made them rise to the occasion. Tails-A-Waggin’ Animal Hospital should be commended for their efforts along with all of the others that give selflessly all of the time to help others through Builders Care. It is difficult to express in mere words the importance of everyone doing their part in the community to make a difference. The contributions of the American Legion riders volunteering during the week to paint the house, to Ruby Tuesday’s in Cape Coral donating lunch to feed the 15 volunteers, to Sherwin-Williams donating the paint, to the leadership of a company like Team Aubuchon to manage and coordinate the efforts, are very meaningful and are changing lives in this community.
