Volunteers from Builders Care and the Lee BIA, along with many community volunteers recently completed construction on a life-changing gift for a very special North Fort Myers family.
Bob and Ola price reside in North Fort Myers with their daughter Rebecca, who now lives with them and serves as their full-time caregiver. Married for over 60 years, Bob and Ola met in high school back Arkansas many many years ago. Bob owned a paint contracting business in Illinois for many years, as well as a family owned Paint Store that the whole family was involved with. In 1994 the family moved to Fort Myers and In 2010 Bob was diagnosed with Cancer and is still fighting the disease today. Ola is also suffering from her own ailments consisting of severe back issues which often affect her mobility. When asking Rebecca about their immediate needs, she made it clear that the wheelchair ramp would really benefit the whole family and in return help her with getting her parents from one location to another.
Special thanks to Lee Building Industry Association, West Coast Structural Concrete & Masonry, Nilles Design Group, Grabber and our many volunteers who helped to make this project a success.
