Check presented to Lee BIA Builders Care from Lee BIA with funds raised at the 2016 Bricks & Sticks Fishing Tournament
The ninth annual Bricks & Sticks Fishing Tournament hosted by the Lee Building Industry Association took place at the Tarpon Point Marina in Cape Coral the weekend of May 6-7 and raised a record of $14,234.46 for Lee BIA Builders Care from the live auction held in conjunction with the awards dinner on Saturday evening. The donation will go toward the nonprofit’s efforts in providing emergency home repairs and construction services to those in need.
The tournament saw 237 registered anglers on 70 boats competing for cash prizes. First prize of $5,000 was awarded to Team Tito’s (Mitch Williamson, Kyle Potts, Michael Williamson & Christopher Magnano), second prize of $3,000 was awarded to Team Better Buildings (Eric Carstensen, Mike Carstensen, & Miles Meredith) and third prize of $2,000 was awarded to Team Entegra Roofing (Dustin Parker, Brent Ferguson & Cliff Utt).

Builders Care is the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA). Its mission is to provide emergency home repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means.
