This year’s BBQ, Bands & Brew event was nothing short of a huge success! The event was held at the Lee County Alliance of the Arts Center on April 6. The fundraiser for Lee Builders Care served the community with great food, music and fun.
Thanks to generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers and a team of excellent supporters, a whopping $60,000 was able to be raised in order to further the mission of Lee Builders Care. The support of all involved made such a huge difference in the community. The funds raised will have a tremendous impact on homeowners in Lee County.
There were approximately 4,500 in attendance, thousands of dollars of in-kind support and 140 volunteers. The second annual poker run, which began at Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers, had 104 riders.
This event is the biggest fundraiser of the year. Lee Builders Care relies heavily on the funds raised at BBQ, Bands & Brew in order to further help in need homeowners within Lee County. Without this major event, many of the projects that are spearheaded by the organization would not be made possible. With great help and support from sponsors and volunteers, Lee builders Care was able to host a fun-filled event while raising enough money to reach their fundraising goal.
The fundraiser featured local bands Alter Ego, Rocker, Deb & the Dynamics and The Grayson Rogers Band, as well as a BBQ competition to name the Best BBQ in town. For the fifth year in a row, Jonesez BBQ took home the People’s Choice Award and for the second time Famous Dave’s won the title of BEST BBQ in town. Other winners included Best Ribs & Best Presentation to Famous Dave’s, Best Pork to MoFo’s Food Truck, Best Side Dish to Blue Crawfish Catering and Best Chicken to Bonez Brothers BBQ.
