12th Annual Bricks & Sticks Fishing Tournament Raises $12,000 for Lee BIA Builders Care

The Lee Building Industry Association (Lee BIA) hosted its 12th Annual Bricks & Sticks Fishing Tournament with the Captain’s Dinner held at The Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon on June 6 and tournament day held at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva on June 8. Proceeds will benefit the Lee BIA in serving the building industry of Lee County as well as provide emergency construction services to elderly and/or disabled community members in need through Lee BIA Builders Care (Builders Care).

The Lee BIA raised $12,000 for Builders Care through the tournament live auction and saw 265 registered anglers on 72 boats competing for cash prizes in this catch and release tournament. The first place prize of $5,000 was awarded to Team Sanibel Captiva Community Bank (Tyler Marks, Brock Ferguson and Cliff Utt) with a total of 180.5 inches. The second place prize of $3,000 was awarded to Team HONC Industries (Steve Honc, Nelson Diaz, Dan Honc and Jayson Rider) with a total of 171 inches, and the third place prize of $2,000 was awarded to Team Wayne Wiles Floor Coverings (Randy Hutto, Colton Bottomley, Jon Moore and Mark Coon) with a total of 167 inches.
